Wind Field Services-Blade Services Tech

Aegis Onshore Services is a turnkey Independent Service Provider (ISP) based out of Amarillo, TX with a team of Field Engineers and Field Specialists who operate and maintain utility-scale wind turbines.  Aegis specializes in Large Corrective Services, Uptower Services and Blades Services. We are seeking to hire Field Specialists I, II, and III to join our expanding team of expert problem solvers. 

Job Overview

Employees in this role are responsible for internal/external blade inspections; repair of composite blades, spinners, and nacelles ranging from Cat 1 – Cat 5 damages, to achieve safe, efficient, and environmentally sound operations. Successful candidates apply a working knowledge of electrical components and equipment to include the use of digital multi-meters, meggers, amp clamps, power tools, variety of chemicals used in lamination process, and suspended platforms. 

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Maintains all tools, shops, vehicles, and work locations in a safe and efficient condition
  • Inspect and document blade damages, assemble all associated documentation as required for further action by Engineering Department
  • Complete composite repairs on blade damages from Cat 1 – Cat 5 severity while following guidelines provided by Engineering
  • Utilize blade access platforms, boom trucks, and rope access at heights of 300 ft or more
  • Manage site preparation responsibilities with minimal supervision (i.e. material inventory and labor coordination)
  • Communicate project status to management, customers
  • Document daily work by use of computer-based service reporting procedures
  • Maintain inventory of assigned assets and project tooling
  • 100% travel with R&R rotations, must be able and willing to travel extensively to meet customer demands on short notice 

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Must be able to pass a DOT physical upon request
  • Maintain a clean driving record with the ability to pass NERC compliant background and DOT drug screens
  • Must be able and willing to lift 50 lbs
  • Must be able and willing to climb 60-120 meters in height as required to complete job tasks
  • Blade Services Technician I
    • Entry-level, less than 1 year of experience in wind
    •  Prefer wind turbine schooling or equivalent certifications (not necessary)
    • Tech has not met requirements identified on Skills Matrix and must be supervised
  • Blade Services Technician II
    • Experience of 1-3 years in wind
    • Tech has met mostly all requirements identified on Skills Matrix, but can not train others
  • Blade Services Technician III
    • Experience of +4 years in wind
    • Tech has all requirements identified on Skills Matrix and can train others 

Preferred Qualifications

  • OSHA 10
  • NFPA 70e
  • GWO – BST, ART
  • Blades Lvl D, or Equivalent
  • OEM Certifications
  • SPRAT

Wind Field Services-Large Corrective Services Tech

Job Overview

Employees in this role are responsible for the operation and maintenance of wind turbine power plants to achieve safe, efficient, and environmentally sound plant operations. Successful candidates apply a working knowledge of troubleshooting electrical components and equipment to include the use of digital multi-meters, meggers, amp clamps, and high voltage tooling.  Candidates will also need a working knowledge of mechanical components including torqueing, tension, 

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Maintains all tools, shops, vehicles, and work locations in a safe and efficient condition
  • Provides inspection of electrical, mechanical, and electronic troubleshooting
  • Performs inspection for fluid system breaches, mechanical component breakage or misalignment, and electrical component failures preventing tracking or production
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned
  • Establish and maintain rapport with customers and field employees
  • Maintain inventory of assigned assets and project tooling
  • 100% travel with R&R rotations, must be able and willing to travel extensively to meet customer demands on short notice

JOB PURPOSE

As the General Manager, you will be responsible for all day-to-day operation that occur within each department of Large Corrective Services and Blade Services.

JOB RESPONSIBILITY SUMMARY

  • Manage budget of both Large Corrective Servies and Blades Services Departments
  • Approve direct reports timecards
  • Analyze past projects and determine profit margin
  • Host weekly, monthly and quarterly calls pertaining to operations, budget, execution, etc.
  • Implement new standard operating procedures (SOP) as needed to execute at higher level
  • Assign tasks to team members for day-to-day responsibilities
